CALLBACK AUDITION INFORMATION
Thank you to all those who came out and auditioned for Street of Dreams Jr. Theatre's Spring Production, Shrek Jr.! It was a pleasure to see the effort and energy that all of you put into auditions. Below is a list of Dreamers we would like to see again for Callbacks. Callbacks will be held on Friday, January 15, immediately following the mandatory dance audition until approximately 9:00. Please plan to be at Callbacks the entire time. Remember that a Callback does not guarantee you the role you are called back on. All materials for Callbacks are available below.
Please note that if you do not see your name, that does not mean you are not going to be cast for the show.
The reasons for Callbacks could be as follows:
1 You are being considered (or already cast) for a particular role and we want to see you do short excerpts of the requirements for that part.
2 You had a very strong audition and are being considered for multiple parts.
3 We need to see you paired with other people that are being considered for roles you will interact with for pairing.
4 We have several people who did well on their audition and are having a difficult time choosing.
Please prepare the song/script excerpt listed by the part(s) you are being called back on. Please note that some parts do NOT have a singing portion.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST USE THE SUPPLIED RECORDINGS FOR THIS AUDITION.
We understand some Dreamers are called back for multiple roles. We DO NOT expect memorization, although it can help, we just expect effort to be put into it, so that your Dreamer is prepared and familiar with the songs and the sides. We don’t want a Dreamer to miss out on an opportunity that they could’ve had a week to prepare for. We are looking for personality and energy along with good diction and pitch. They are expected to do the things below:
SHREK
“I Think I Got You Beat” - be prepared to sing the entire song.

FIONA
“I Know It’s Today”
“Morning Person”

YOUNG FIONA/TEEN FIONA
“I Know It’s Today” - Please prepare and be familiar with the entire song. We need to see all the “Fiona’s” sing together.
You will not need to read.
MAMA OGRE/PAPA OGRE
“Big Bright Beautiful World” - Please prepared to sing the following cues for the song.

STORYTELLERS

“Make a Move” and “Travel Song” - please be prepared to sing the entire songs.
We may have you sing one or the other, or both, or cut you off, but be prepared to go with the flow. We are looking for comedic timing and character!!

VARIOUS FAIRY TALE CREATURES
Please be prepared to read any character part in Side 4 and Side 5.
“Freak Flag” - be prepared to sing ALL the fairytale character parts at the following cues.
